ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

MINI MUSEUM: Parent volunteers present classical art prints in the classroom, enriching and expanding the school art program. Art experience is not necessary. Instructional guide provided. Time commitment is minimal, prep time plus 1-2 hours of total classroom time in January or February. Three volunteers are needed per grade.
JR. GREAT BOOKS: A 12-week program for 2nd through 5th grades starting in January. A volunteer leads weekly discussions of great books and stories during the children's lunch hour. At least one volunteer per grade is needed. Instructional guide provided.
ECO DISCOVERY: Brings quality educational programs to all elementary schools through supplemental programs. Teachers are allowed to choose their own specific program from a master list and schedule the program at their convenience as it fits into their curriculum. Professionals paid for by PEPA present the programs. We need one volunteer per school to assist the teachers with program sign-up and to do follow-up at the end of the program.
ARTS ENRICHMENT: Brings the arts to the school through theater, music, dance, and puppetry. Committees work with the music and art teachers to find programs to bring into the school.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING: Committee is responsible for pursuing some form of educational program for parents. The intent is for this to be a one-time/one-night seminar, workshop, or guest speaker, etc.
FUNDRAISING (These are the only fundraisers sponsored by PEPA)

SANTA'S SECRET SHOPPER: An opportunity for a child to purchase gifts for family members. Numerous volunteers are needed to assist the children in making and purchasing their selections and for wrapping their items. Volunteers are also needed for set-up and tear down.
MEMBERSHIP DRIVE: PEPA conducts one annual membership drive held in September. Membership is $10 per family giving members voting rights at all PEPA meetings.
SUMMER FUN SALE: Excellent value to our buyers with a coupon package for local merchants. Each offer is hand-selected by PEPA to bring the best return to our participants.
BOOK FAIR: This is one of the largest fundraisers that PEPA sponsors, with all proceeds going directly to the school libraries and classrooms. It is a wonderful opportunity to purchase books and miscellaneous items for you and your family. Numerous volunteers are needed during the week of the book fair with time commitments that accommodate most schedules. The book fair is held in the fall.
MARKET DAY: Shopping through Market Day provides you with the highest quality groceries and benefits your school at the same time. As Market Day continues to grow in popularity, we continue to need more volunteer support. Voluteers are needed to organize and check orders at each Market Day pick-up, once per month.
STANDING COMMITTEES

STAFF RECOGNITION/APPRECIATION: Tokens of appreciation are given throughout the year for teachers and staff. We can always use volunteers for this program whether to serve on the committee or just to make cookies,muffins, etc. once in a while.
PEPA NEWSLETTER/PUBLICITY: Experience is not necessary. Two to three volunteers are needed. Duties include assisting Publicity Chair in publishing the quarterly PEPA Post newsletter.
